Maggie Mae, formerly known as Lil' Mama, was rescued just in time from the Devore shelter, where she was on her last day before euthanasia. It's heartbreaking to think of her past, as she is truly the sweetest and most loving girl. At about 2 years old, Maggie is a bulldog mix who is spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations, house trained, and has had her cherry eyes repaired. She gets along well with both male and female dogs, though her experience with cats is unknown.

When Maggie first came to us, her back legs were weak from likely being kept in a confined space, and she was timid about walks. But now, she’s growing stronger every day, happily prancing and exploring the world around her. Despite her past abuse, Maggie is incredibly loving and gentle. She does startle easily with quick movements and may cower when reaching out to pet her, but with time, patience, and love, we're confident these fears will fade.

Maggie loves her crate, where she feels safe and secure, and she’s a quiet sleeper—perfect for those looking for a calm, bed-loving companion. While she’s still learning boundaries, Maggie is treat-motivated and has been improving with guidance. We recommend Maggie to a home with adults or children over 12, where she can be the loving, energetic companion she’s meant to be. She especially loves basking in the sun, and above all, she wants to be close to her human(s), soaking up all the love and affection they have to offer.
